Male and female basketball team of the University of Ljubljana passed to the semifinals after winning both German representatives. For locals and hosts of the championships, the team of University of Primorska, the Turkish team was too strong indeed, even though they fiercely fought to the end. In the most exciting match of the day, after a heavy battle, they lost the duel with Istanbul Fatih University with the final result of 74:68.
In girls matches the University of Zagreb firmly won Aydin University with 84:63, Strasbourg defeated by Viennese 52:37 and the biggest surprise of the day were Warsaw women who smoothly won with 58:42 the Russian Surgut.
For men, the first to break through the quarterfinals was Ljubljana, while the Moscow Lomonosov University had to admit the superiority of Bologna, it was 65:79. Niš from Serbia expectedly as foreseen defeated the Estonians 89:62.
In groups playing for rankings from 9th to 12th places the University of Trieste won their first game after beating the Portugese Aveiro to 57:50 and Hungarians with a score of 79:54 outrun their Romanian oponents.
