European Universities Basketball Championship
European Universities Championships (EUC) are university sports competitions governed by the European University Sports Association (EUSA). There are currently 17 sports in which the championships are organised. Participants in these events are European university teams and individuals.

The championships have been organised annually since 2001, and from 2012 onwards, they are organised on a biannual basis, with European Universities Games being organised in odd years as a multi-sport events, and the individual championships being organised in even years.

 

Basketball is one of the few sports that still keeps up the competition every year, since 2001. So far, it held 12 championships. All competition results, pictures and more info about Championships can be found at their page.

 

EUSA Executive Committee meeting of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) in the year 2013 took place in Zagreb, Croatia on January 25 and 26. EUSA Executive members were first welcomed by the team from Croatian Academic Sports Federation (CASF), led by its President Mr Zrinko Custonja. EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek thanked the hosts on behalf of the Executive Committee for the invitation and for arranging the meeting and presented some symbollic gifts to CASF representatives.

 

EUSA representatives and hosts were also received by the authorities at the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports; Universities and also the City of Zagreb. The meetings with the highest representatives were also used to discuss the importance of university sport on local, national and international level. The receptions were also accompanied by a press conference.

 

Mr Patrik Perosa, EUSA Sports Manager presented the progress reports of the 2013 European Universities Championships and presented the bids for the 2015 Championships. After the presentations and discussions, voting took place and the EUSA Executive Committee attributed the events for 2015.

 

The selected location for basketball has become Koper (SLO). Ever since then, the University Sports Association of Primorska efforts and prepares the best and memorable championship.
